Capturing the Real You
Our photo sessions focus on you and capturing your uniqueness in photographs. I love being creative and trying new ideas in every session and, as you can see on our website, I’m not stuck in a rut even though I’m an “older” photographer. Just remember, “getting older isn’t optional, growing up is.” I like to think that my many years of photo experience allow me to be more creative because I have developed the skills to capture the beauty I see in each person so it can be shared with others.
Every time I pick up a camera, I want the next image to be better than the last. My photo mentor is an internationally known photographer who evaluates my work, offers suggestions, and keeps me focused on what’s important in life as well as business. She keeps me from getting stale and challenges me to keep growing as a photographer.
Do you think that you are not photogenic? Well, that’s a myth. Every person can be photographed so that their special beauty shines in their portraits. It’s my responsibility as a photographer to use my technical skills, experience, and abilities to create an environment that allows you to be relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. I hate being in front of the camera more than just about anyone so I’m very sensitive to those feelings. My greatest compliments have come from people who have told me how much they were dreading the session and then, after the session, tell me how much fun they had and that the images were beyond anything they could have imagined. When I hear someone say, “Wow, you made me look beautiful”, I say “YES!” inside because I know they are seeing themselves as I see them and as they should see themselves.
If you have an idea for a special image, I will work with you to create it either on location or in our studio. Take a look at our model portfolio images to see some creative, fashion style images I’ve taken. After our session, I want you to remember the fun we had creating the images together and to be able to say I captured the real you.
INTERESTED IN BEING A MODEL?
I can help with that. I work with both new and experienced models that need images for their portfolios. I’ve been told by every model I’ve worked with that I made them feel very comfortable and safe during the sessions. That should be the norm; but, sadly, models have told me about working with sleazy photographers who just want to take advantage of them. See my Blog on this website for our Code of Conduct not only when we work with models; but, with everyone we shoot.
Here are a few unsolicited comments by models about their experience with me:
- “I highly recommend Ken Fry of Centrum Foto, he is the best!! He is fun, professional, creative, and a master of what he does!”
- “I can’t wait to shoot with you again! I loved working with you.”
- “Hey Ken, I had a lot of fun shooting with you on Saturday. Hope we can do it again.”
- “Ken is great to work with!!”
- “Ken, thank you so much for giving us lucky girls the opportunity to shoot with you we had a wonderful day as well!”
I’m a member of THE Model Program which allows you to have exposure to national modeling agencies and to be possibly being published in national photo magazines.
There are times that I need children, individuals, and couples of all ages to model for our studio promotions, brochures, and to test new ideas that I have for images. At a minimum, you will get a Free 8×10 print for modeling for us and have a lot of fun.
Think you don’t have a perfect body for modeling? Well, no one does and please reread the Do you think that you are not photogenic? section above for the truth. I’m not looking for supermodels (who are mostly Photoshopped anyway), I’m looking for real people who are willing to try something more artistic than a normal photo session and to allow themselves to appear in ads for the studio.
If you are interested in being a Centrum Model, contact me and we’ll set up a test shoot.
